Newin Virginia! 4WD Stepside

Post by 67Step4WD »

Hi folks. I'm brand new to the Forum, but I''ve built a few cars, this is my first truck! I bought (on impulse) a 1967 F100 stepside 4WD. Upon reflection this was a hard one to build: there were only 400 of these built, but it's been fun so far! Here's a pic or two of the truck as bought, and where I am: This is a complete nut and bolt rebuild, so it has taken awhile and will take awhile more. Everything was taken down to the frame, it was media-blasted and powder coated. I bought two other parts trucks out of the west, so every body piece was taken down, media-blasted and epoxy coated: It is all original era metal. I've replaced everything with NOS, and the nuts and bolts with grade 8 hardware. I rebuilt the original 6 cylinder 300 (yes the early pics here just show the original motor with mock-up paint for fun), the NP435 and the (darn this was hard) Dana 21 transfer, along with the diffs and hubs. I did put a modern wiring harness in it and and power brakes. I'll add a build thread with pics, but here's a peek"

I'm looking forward to learning a few things here. I'm recutting boards for the the bed,I'm having to make a few parts as I can't find any. Looking to connect with any MD or VA owners!

Thanks for looking!

Can I drop my truck off at your house for a while?

Nice, that truck seems to be quite the find ...

Thats a lot quicker than I’m getting it done... :D And hey the driveline is mostly done so that saves you time, but I would like a two tone so maybe that is a wash

Anyway, all kidding aside - start the project thread on this thing and keep us up to date, it could easily shape up to be a favorite... I like the 6 and the “arrest me red”.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I Did start a build thread under Projects, I'm new here so just smack me if I do something wrong: I'm building a 1967 F100 shortbed stepside 4WD and I love this project. The Fordification community has literally guided me on this build!
