Looking for Part # ID...Steering Column
Hi - I was hoping somebody could confirm the part number for the circled item in the attached image. I'm guessing #3510 ... is that correct?

Looks like what's left of your lower column bearing https://www.carolina-classics.com/carol ... er=product Same one on the upper end too.

Re: Looking for Part # ID...Steering Column
That's it - 3510 - little metal ring that has a felt type seal behind it......
The bearings are #3517...........its still in the bottom of the column and if you replace them everyone lists them as the same but they aren't - the bottom bearing has a smaller OD than the top but it will work - just did mine and it works fine........

Re: Looking for Part # ID...Steering Column
Thanks guys. The pic I provided isn't my truck, but I can't help but notice the greased up white nylon sleeve, I'm assuming this is part #3518. From the schematic it looks like this should be on the other side of the lower bearing. Am I reading the schematic wrong?

Re: Looking for Part # ID...Steering Column
The sleeve slides up inside the lower bearing - It's tapered so it doesn't slide up inside and keeps the shaft centered on the bearing - the steering shaft itself doesnt ride on the bearing - there's one on the top end of the column also on the other bearing - sometimes I have trouble figuring them out too if I'm by the truck on my small tablet........my eyes aren't what they used to be........clineco wrote:Thanks guys. This will give you some working knowledge of how it all goes together. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=72274 Almost everything except the steering column shaft is available through the usual vendors.
