Been working on cleaning the garage. I have let it get out of hand to the point I barely had an isle to walk through. The wife helped a lot on Tuesday. Now we need to finish putting tools away and finish labeling the tool box. Then I need to get the axles into the garage and start refurbing them to get the chassis rolling again.

Sounds very good there. Gotta have space to work. By chance what is the distance frame to spring??? curious what your springs show. :?

On the rear I measured from the bottom of the frame to the spring pad and it was about 14". I now have from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the spring at 14".

Got more cleaning done today. Started by servicing two starters I had. One was an easy refresh, the second one was the worst rebuilt starter I have ever seen. Needles to say the only thing I will be saving is the snout, the rest is scrap.

Going to do some more cleaning tomorrow. Hoping to get the rear springs installed correctly, I managed to put them on backwards. There is a front and back since the axle is centered on the spring.

At least I saw it before the axle got installed. And the springs haven't been tightened yet, like I knew it was wrong....LOL :hmm:

At least I got the fronts done right. The frame bushing were the worst part but they are now poly bushings as well as the spring bushings. I had to source replacement rubber bushings for the rear since no one have a listing for poly's for the rear. :(

Last week we traveled to Florida for work, got home last Wednesday night. This week I had to go to Wallops Island got back yesterday. I hope to be able to finish the garage clean-up and dis-assemble my spare axle so I have the backing plate and drums for the 4x4.

It's usually harder to find time for my truck than it is to work on it. Hope you get your springs swapped back with no hang ups

I did get one swapped, no problems. Have to do the second one tomorrow.

Thursday was a fantastic day. I scored a 1979 F250 front axle 4.09 ratio for $100 complete. I just happened to check CL and the add had just been posted and it was 10 minutes from work. The rotors look ok, will need a light turning.

Today I started to breakdown a spare Dana 60 axle I have. I am keeping the drums, backing plates and axles. I hope a guy is going to buy the the rest for $50.

Got some more work done. Finished installing the rear springs correctly. Also torqued all the spring bolts. Got back to cleaning and painting the frame.

I flipped the frame over and started cleaning the top and painting. Still have to do the inside of the passenger frame rail. Also need to bring the axles in and start cleaning and painting them to install. Then it can be moved out and the cab can move into the garage.

Almost a roller!! The fun stuff begins. I had a lot more fun working on my cab than on the frame.

I hope I do too Lone. I did get the rear axle in the garage and started the cleaning. Have it set on jack stands now. Hope to get it sanded and painted and pull the brakes apart, one drum is stuck right now.
