Winch Bumpers?

I'm looking at buying a pre-1972 Ford F-250 and want to know if anyone knows of any after-market bolt-on winch bumpers out there. I've got a nice 1967 F-250 Base 4wd with the V8 option and manual transmission picked out, and I want to know what's out there, or if I need to go the custom fabrication path through a welding shop.

depends what you want. If your wanting something time period correct finding and older setup would look better than making something or buying something new. But if your modifying the truck then you can do mild- wild. Heres and old thread we did a couple years ago if it helps. BTW that green f250 looks amazing. I wouldn't change a thing on it. just add something older to compliment it.

It looks great and needs some work to be done. I would like to see how this truck has been modified. When it comes to winch bumpers, I browsed different catalogs and found Warn winch to be a decent choice.

I wouldn't screw with a dedicated bumper as I think it detracts from the look of the truck. I would fabricate a behind the bumper Reese hitch with a hidden hole behind the front plate. Then mounts your hitch on a Reese receiver and keep it off the truck until you plan on doing some serious 4x4 stuff. If you have an in bed box you could probably keep it there. For the front plate, mount it with an old rear plate mount from a Fairlane or Torino that's spring loaded to uncover the fuel cap.

Keep it looking stock while more capable than stock.

They should work on your truck but they are $825 to $1168

You could fabricate something cheaper even if you hired someone to do final welding for you.

I have a warn winch bumper which was designed around the Bumps in the 70's I believe with a Warn winch on it....if anyone is actually looking for one...I'm not sure I want a winch on my 70 when I'm done with it, most likely keep my winch vehicles jeeps or Broncos....anyways contact me if you want to discuss this or get more info..

I am with Ranchero on this. The reciever hitch to me is a way better option. These trucks have too much style stock with me. The winch bumpers in my eyes take somthing away from the front of the truck. Has to be the right one for it to work. A reciever and a push bar is my method of madness
