New to Fords with a '69 F250 Camper Special
Hello all,
I'm new on the forum, and new to Fords. Always been a car guy, I grew up building Pontiacs with my dad. A couple days ago, I bought this 1969 F250 Camper Special. It's a total beater, but that's what i was looking for. It's only been two days and I'm already in love. It needs some work. Hopefully it won't be long before it's in tip top shape.

I paid 4k. It's a 20 footer for sure. There's a little rust and it has acceleration issues I need to work out. But it's reliable.Busboy wrote:What did you have to pay? It looks pretty solid from way up here on your balcony.

As far as i can tell. No rust, if that's what you're asking. there's a little noise while driving over bumps. I'm thinking just old worn out bushings.19ford71 wrote:Looks great! I like it! Is it solid underneath?

Hahaha! touche! It currently sounds like a clunking, moaning, clackety, wind tunnel. the closer i can get to a purring kitten, the better. I love driving it, but the wife isn't a fan of riding in it. So that means new bushings, wheel/axle bearings, exhaust manifold gaskets, and weather stripping.Jacksdad wrote:Whoa there - you mean they're not supposed to make noises?Trifling_Milton wrote:...there's a little noise while driving over bumps. Re: New to Fords with a '69 F250 Camper Special
My wife hated our F350 when I first got it, and flat refused to go in it for the longest time. She caved after a while, and she was often the one organizing trips in it. Nothing wrong with quietening the ride, but it's surprising how fast you get used to your truck talking to you
