sounds like me.... I've had my wirefeed for like 9 years and am still working on the 3rd spool of wire in it! wish I had more stuff to weld with it, but I use my AC/DC welder a lot more. but I wouldn't do without it anyways!

I've had mine for about 3 years now and have only used it a couple times. However, that's going to change in the very near future as I start welding a box together.

That looks like a great unit, John. I think you'll be happy with that for sheetmetal repair. Mine's quite a bit bigger, but this is one of those times when bigger isn't necessarily better...as I have to turn mine down as far as it'll go to prevent burning through sheetmetal. It's definitely going to take some practice.

from what iv'e learned about welding sheetmetal, go fast and don't worry about the prettyness unless your doing a crevass weld, then make sure you get good penetration. i built a 6ft by 4 foot by 2 foot shelf out of 18 guage sheet, that took some practice and engineering. did it with a wire feed.

According to the specs on the wire roller door, it'll handle from 24ga. sheet metal to 1/4 steel. I can't really see a need for more than that, so I think this'll do nicely.
I haven't had a chance to play one way Frisbee with the face shield yet. I did get an auto darkening helmet made by Lincoln as well.

Hrmmm, I can help you use up some of that wire... Might just be making a `74 trailer this spring.

Yah... c'mon over here and I'll help ya use wire too!! I ran 4 big spools through my old, trusty Miller 200 just last summer, and am almost done with another since then!! I switched over to a process called "dual shield" that has a flux wire (.045) and also uses the gas at the same time... the railroad uses it for all their heavy welding.. it's really a great system and the penetration is phenominal!! It's a bit smoky in the shop, but I can put up with that for the performance.

Yeah I Got 2 Lincolns Both 220volts A 175 MIG and A good old reliable Stick.

I love'em both and wouldn't trade 'em for anything else. I planning on buying a Plasma cutter this Summer. When I worked at the Cat dealer we used Lincolns and Millers as far as I'm concerned their both Top-O-Line Mfg's.

man your trucks must be rust free I use my mig daily just patching my old girls up. I can't even recall how many spools of wire I used up.
It feels like I never shut the welder off.

FYI: Always respect the Duty Cycle of your Welding machine!

It will make the difference between having a Welder that you could pass on down to your kid or having to buy a new one every couple of years or so...
