Hello FORDification. Great website and forum. I just acquired my old man's 71 F-250 that had been sitting for 2 years. Paid some mechanic to do the bare bones minimum to get the truck to run and drive out of the shop. He charged me a boatload of money to lubricate the throttle cable, adjust the carb, and drop in new rear brakes. I'm taking over and am planning to get it back up to a reliable working condition. My objective with the truck is to use it for dump runs, home depot runs, and the occasional beer run. Maybe I'll drop some money on it in the future and get it re-painted. Not trying to restore it or anything, just want it to start, go from A to B. Current issues that I would like some help with.
1) Truck turns on and runs fine. Once driving for a while and warm, it will stall at stop signs and when turning after slowing down.
2) Bias-ply tires 9.50-16.5 that have a flat spot and are out of balance. Need to swap tires or find an alternative radial based solution. I don't want to drop a grand for tires. What is the cheapest solution for this.
