Hello from MA

Post by MadJoe »

Hi, proud new owner of a 1971 F-350 Stake Body with a 360ci V8. Just dropped in to say hello, and hopefully learn some things the easy way before I break something.

I've attached a photo of her, but it really doesn't do this beauty the justice it deserves. There is literally no rust on this truck's frame, just the slightest amount of surface rust on the leaf springs and some other suspension components, and it has been here in New England its entire 46 years. The 2nd owner, from whom I bought it, says he brought it to his mechanic regularly to have the frame and undercarriage oiled, and it shows. Plenty of oil cake, no rust, solid floor pans. Other than a very mild weep from the RMS, it seems 100%. Any suggestions for a first time owner? I've heard the 360 is just a 427 waiting to be finished.

Also, is it true the left rear lugs are left thread on these things?
