Got a new farm truck.

Post by Promasean »

I just brought home a new family member. "Buck" is a 1971 F-250 4WD Flatbed Dually(Factory Styleside) with a 360 and 4-Speed. I am the 3rd owner and the first 2 were next door neighbors. Buck spent his first 40 years on a farm in Northeast Oregon. He is Sky View Blue over Wimbledon White with a code 2 (not on the '71 decoder) Lt/Med Blue interior. Somewhere along the way the homemade flatbed was added along with the homemade front winch bumper with an 8k Ramsey. The duals were an aftermarket kit add-on. The odometer shows 72k. I have no idea if it has been around but there is a good chance it has not given where it has spent most its life. Yes, I know the grille is from a '72. I am already looking for the correct inserts. I also need some Dietz 77-533 clearance lamp lens and gaskets, a cigar lighter, a pair of hood hinge springs and the right side trim for the fender, door and cab corner. I look forward to putting Buck to work and sharing on this great site.

Really good looking rig there. And welcome!

Would love more photos!

So the duals were a aftermarket drum / wheel set-up for the Dana 60?

When you look for hood hinge springs, look for the square springs, as opposed to the circular. They are stiffer and in my opinion work better / last longer.

Best!

The dual conversion came from Arrowcraft Products, Inc. They are still in business arrowcraft.com. The kit parts list I found in the glovebox says it came with 2 adapters, 2 fenders, 4 one ton dual wheels and 16 lugnuts.

Thanks for the tip on the springs.

BTW... this forum has already helped me out. I couldn't find the jack handle. Found a post telling me exactly where it is. Rather where it is supposed to be. Sadly the handle is gone but at least the mounting brackets are there.
