Ford Lady from Northern California

Post by Tiger Swallowtail »

I don't currently have a Ford pickup, I drive a 1965 Ford Van - A Falcon by badge, but it's the same as an Econoline. It does have a 3.50 in the 9" rear end from a Deceased F-100. I know it does, because I got the gearhead out of the truck while it was parked next to a calf chute. I was sitting in dry cow pies while trying to get the rusted axles out, and wasps were bouncing off my skull. Good thing I have a hard skulll, I have to have one to be stubborn enogh to change up a 3:00 to a 3:50 just because I like torque better than speed.

Anyway, I've had an assortment of pickups, but the only kind of Ford pickup I have plans of acquiring will be a 1967 Econoline pickup, which doesn't count since it is not an F-100. Still, I'm adding many later improvements, so I think I can learn all sorts of interesting things here. Just ignore me, I'll sit in the back of the room and listen.

Thank you, HIO Silver. Are you a Lone Ranger fan? Or do you have a silver Ranger in addition to your F-100's and F250?

My user ID is derived from the Lone Ranger cuz I usually wrench alone and am kind of a maverick. Used to have a 98 Ranger.. but it was gold.

I have a silver Ferrari... I affectionately call it "My lil pony". LOL.

:wel: Welcome from Southern Alberta Canada! I'm just 12 miles north of the beautiful State of Montana, east of the Alaska Highway. Don't worry about the dried up meadow muffins they add class to your truck project. :D Good luck with your Econoline project, they are getting rare and well worth restoring. There is actually a Mercury Econoline for sale about 8 miles north of here, hope someone takes that on. My newest Ford is a '69 F100 4X4. Keep in touch about your work, there are a great bunch of folks here to help you along! :)
