New bump in Missouri

Stumbled on to this thing when I was looking for an engine. I was taken by the lack of rust. The body is in great shape. Overall a pretty nice start to a project I wasn't looking for. It has some issues, needs brake work, shift column is disconnected, butchered.

Somebody hooked up something wrong when they swapped an alternator and smoked some wires in the alternator harness. That's what Im trying to straighten out right now. It runs, the tranny engages but I haven't driven it yet.

This is a great forum with lots of information. Ive been browsing your forum and your wiring diagrams. Ive learned a lot. Thanks.

Thanks fellas. I should have included its a 71 with a 360 c6 auto. PS PB Dealer add on AC.

Ive been studying the wiring diagram for the 72. The high res one. Wow. Its the only one I could find that details what is happening with the ammeter wiring. Apparently the harness is made and wires up differently than the one with the charging light. I got the harness repaired tonight and hope to put it on tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it will start with the key and charge.
