Picked up 1972 f250 camper special. I was trying to decode the vin and hit a wtf moment. The body style is listed as D 4. I got that the D is for camper special, but whats up with the 4?
Truck has AC, power steering, power brakes, the 6x10 mirrors, chrome windshield trim, a 390 with automatic, and a aux fuel tank.

fairly certain that on the vin, the body code info first item is trim code (D=blk vinyl) and second item is body type (4=styleside pickup)
if 3 digits its trim, seat type, body code
