Windshiel gasket
Ok, for all you detail guys; Im about ready to spring for a new windshield and gasket. Around $300, and I want to know if anyone has any experience on the brands of windshield gaskets?
There's probably some different brands, and I want a nice one, closest to factory and well made.
Does anyone have any feedback on this? Keep on truckin'!

Re: Windshiel gasket
I bought one from LMC and can say you don't want that one. The trim wouldn't stay in it so I pulled the trim off and it was still a pain to put in. I've put in about 10-12 windshields and that one was the hardest. Good thing it's only in until I paint it.

Re: Windshiel gasket
Just bought one for my rear window from LMC before reading this post. Hopefully it's a better fit. No trim to deal with fortunately.

Re: Windshield gasket
I avoid LMC's rubber and soft plastic products is because their rubber/soft plastic formulation doesn't hold up to UV and heat. I bought some seals from LMC and they literally dried up, cracked, and fell apart in about two years. Aggravating.
Sometimes they just resell Dennis Carpenter's higher quality parts and that's a good thing. But why not just get it directly from Dennis Carpenter?

HELL YES! LMC sucks in general...overpriced for some of their stuff and shipping is stupidly expensive IMO.Big specht wrote:So there stuff is that much better than lmc's ?

I'd say they are from DC. You can call either place and get an idea. The DC one I installed went in well enough (other than the normal windshield install cussing and grunting)

Ha-ha you and I both Jamie, (on the cussing part), but mine went in much...easier once I found out I was trying to put it in backwards LOL!Ranchero50 » Thu Apr 21, 2016 8:39 am

Looked and can't find the ebay seller, (his username was "rubberthe rightway") that I got mine from (and it arrived in a DC bag).
Do yourself a favor and don't wast money on LMC rubber-bet you'll be glad you did.
