First time owner in Charlotte, NC - 1972 Ford F-100 Explorer Edition

I've been here for about a month or so, but just wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm in my early 30's and live just outside of Charlotte, NC.

I purchased my first vintage vehicle in January - a 1972 F-100 Explorer Edition with a 360/C6 setup. I'm the second owner of the truck. It spent almost all of its life in Georgia.

I don't have a ton of experience with older vehicles or general auto repair. I've owned carbureted vehicles in the past; my first car was a 1983 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue, and my last project was a 1986 Pontiac Trans AM with a 350 out of a 1975 Camaro. That project ended up being a complete mess.

This time around I decided to get the best possible vehicle I could afford, which is why I bought this truck. It's totally unmolested and all original. The only item I've changed so far is the steering wheel. Otherwise, everything is original or OEM replacement parts.

Anyone else in the Charlotte area?

Welcome to the site. Good looking truck you've got there. from the way the truck looks you don't need to do to much to it.

Thanks. I purposely got the best example I could get. The paint is the biggest issue after I get the engine rebuilt.

Everything works on the truck which is a rarity and it doesn't have too much rust. Only at bottom of doors and one small spot on the left side of the bed frame.

I've done a ton of work already (anything from new dizzy and pertronix to new starter to new steering wheel and new lights).
