OK guys I'm just thinking ahead to the future I have plenty of time. I was just wondering should I paint my truck all at once reassembled or should it be done piece by piece I'm going for a two tone paint job red on bottom and white top. Also if it's reassembled and primed are they going to be Able to access everything needed to be painted and what about my chassis Will there be overspray and such. I think I'll be doing all the priming myself and most of the bodywork to keep cost down

Re: Reassemble and paint or paint in pieces?
Piece by piece typically results in better coverage. However, the doors and fenders should be mocked up so the two-tone lines match up.
Remember that shooting metallics requires the work to be positioned as if it is mounted on the vehicle. Solids do not.
Overspray? A shop worth a lick will mask thoroughly.... hack shops don't.

Re: Reassemble and paint or paint in pieces?
Is this a full color change? What about the interior, firewall, etc.? I've already had my truck disassembled so we're not talking "apples to apples" here. I've sprayed the chassis and suspension myself and prepped/primed the rest of the body parts. Will be starting the body work on the bed soon hopefully. I color sprayed my inner fenders and firewall already. I had somebody else color spray my cab interior and the inside of my doors. I intend to complete everything on the inside, install the doors and hood, loose mount the bed so I can slide it back from the cab and have the whole exterior sprayed at once so I'm sure I have a good match all around. Then I'll finish the exterior. I lack the skills to paint it myself but I'm fortunate enough to know a retired professional painter who'll come to my house and spray it there in my garage. He's the one who sprayed my interior and I'm very happy with it.
