New To Fordification

Post by ScottyB »

1971 F100 Ranger swb original 360 FE 4 speed with granny. 9 inch rear.
Picked this truck up from a farmer who had 2 to sell. The other was a 68 with a lwb 302.
Which ever sold first, the money would go into the one that didn't as a father / son project.
Funny story about getting this truck was my wife and I were looking at another truck that turned out to be not as advertised. We were 3 hours drive out. I saw this one behind a gated fence doing about 60 mph and slammed on the brakes to turn around.
When me and my wife test drove it, I got into 3rd gear before it ran out of gas.
We had to walk about 1/4 mile to get the owner.
Needless to say, it drove home 158 miles and I've been chipping away at restoring it.
I'm a huge fan of American cars and trucks and really like the forum for help from the guys who have been there and done that. I like to do my own work and have been working on cars, trucks and motorcycles for 30 years now. Damn. I'm old
