Greetings and thanks!

Greetings!

Thanks for all the helpful information everyone. Absolutely essential info that helped me keep my truck going!

I bought this 1970 F-250 Custom Camper Special about 6 months ago for $6K.

About every two weeks something goes wrong.. lol. After the shift handle collar (or whatever you call it) on my steering shaft broke, I've had to reach under the truck to put it in gear! (With emergency brake on and tires blocked of course!) It's an awful pain, but I'm sure I'll forget about it as soon as I can find a new shifter handle... A friend of mine told me that this is due to the bushings underneath the cab wearing out, causing it to sag, therefore putting stress on the steering column. If that's true, it sounds like it's should not be much trouble to fix... What I am having a lot of trouble finding is another shifter handle for the steering column.

Put it this way:

My frustrations from breaking down, usually lead me into a great urge to sell the dang thing... But this urge is always outweighed by the joys I get out of driving it around after making the repairs!

Thanks for all the helpful info at info guys and gals!
