I'm just the mom

My 15 year old son has fallen in love with a 1968 f100 flareside short bed. As a single mom, he certainly hasn't been properly exposed to mechanical things. ...but this truck is changing all of that. He's made friends with a friend of mine who has taken him under his wing [he's a car guy]. Shaymus' wants to restore the truck back to its original glory with as much historical accuracy as financially possible. He works in his high school cafeteria before school and during his lunch break to finance his love affair. That being said, restoration will be slow.
Amazingly, the truck runs pretty well and gets better as each part of a tune up is completed. This weekend they are changing out the spark plugs and rebuilding the rag joint. Goal is to drive it to a car show here the end of Feb.

Sweet looking truck ! Single parent here also.
Nice to see a young man interested in something he can learn from. Kudos to his work ethic, and responsibility for the financial end.
