Doors
Thought my truck was all original until I looked at the VIN on the driver's side door. I have a five lug 69 Ranger but the door is from an f250 according to the tag. I'm guessing that's why my interior door panel does not match what I have seen on other 69 Rangers.

Re: Doors
Quite possible the door has been swapped with one from an F250 and the PO never bothered to swap the plate. It's fairly common when rust is an issue. The frame VIN is a better indicator because frame swaps are not as common as sheet metal swaps.

Re: Doors stuck
Also, my passenger door has been stuck shut since I acquired my truck. It randomly opened for me one time, but other than that I can't force it open. Any ideas on where to start ?

Re: Doors
Found out the truck is an F250. When the original owner did the 78 disc brake swap he went with the 5 lugs and a new rear axle. Find out something new everyday.

Re: Doors stuck
Take the panel off and pull on the rod that goes to the latch. Feel in there and follow the rod to the latching mechanism to see if it may be stuck. Spray liberally from the inside with PB Blaster or WD40 and let sit. Repeat a few times. If you get it open, inspect the striker at the door post and lube the inside of the latching mechanism from the outside at the gears/cams of the latch. Work it for awhile to see if you can get to function reliably, then try to close and open it.travis6370 wrote:Also, my passenger door has been stuck shut since I acquired my truck.
