truck bed wood floor

Post by Zorm »

just picked up a good 70's bed, floor has rust issues, I have seen someone here put wood on top of the floor but what about replacing the ribbed section of the floor with wood?
thanks

I've seen a couple things on the net about this when researching going the OTHER way with my flareside. All info I found was for Chevies but it'll still be relevant. http://www.mar-k.com/Catalog/PDF/Instru ... 72conv.pdf http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/paint-body ... loor-swap/ http://www.mar-k.com/steel_floor_to_wood_bed.aspx Good luck and if you go ahead with the project be sure to post pictures of your work.

Here's an idea, anyone thought of using old reclaimed wood, treated correctly, for the floor of their fleet side bed?

Our very own tylerb43 put a wood floor in his styleside https://fordification.com/forum/viewtop ... &start=615 Back up to around page 25 and back in his project thread and you can see how he did it. Way to go, Tyler!

I have always called the non step side beds, fleetside, thought I saw a ford dealer call them that in the 70's and it stuck.
