Welcome, I'm in a similar boat, thank God I've got a friend that can build most anything...and reasonable too! As for the stench, if you're planning to do some restoration then start by ripping out the headliner and carpet as that's where the majority of the smell lives; smug it!

Looks like a fun project in the making, I've got a Custom F100 68', in the works and a non driver at the moment.

Welcome From AZ, If the smell is bad its probably in the upholstery, if its faint and you're not planning on replacing anything soon air cleaners "Air Scrubber" with Ozone can help, I Don't know if you will ever get it out permanently without replacing parts.
