1972 C6 trans rear yoke needed. mine has groves
Hello, i had a fresh C6 trans rebuild done a few months back in my 72 ranger, now its leaking from the rear seal of the trans, the shop says the rear yoke has groves in it so it wont seal correctly, does anyone know where i can find one of these yokes, are there different kinds, sizes...? Thank you. Kevin Currier

If you're talking about a seal groove worn into the yoke, search for a repair sleeve. They make them for differential yokes, so there may be one available for your trans yoke. They are called Redi-sleeves, DuraSleeves, etc.

Is yours a fixed or slip yoke? I think I just pulled a c6 slip yoke off a trans the other week and put it on my parts shelf.

this looks like mine, sorry not sure the difference between fixed and a slip yoke, mine has u-bolts and a big nut under the linkage like this pic. Thank you kevin.

You have a fixed yoke. It bolts onto the output shaft and doesn't move. A slip yoke slides in and out of the tail housing as the suspension travels

Slip yokes do not get seal grooves worn in them because they are seldom in the same spot in relation to the output housing seal.
