Hi.
I have a '68 F250 Camper Special that I'm restoring. I've been pulling parts off it and paint-stripping/sandblasting them. There are some areas that I cannot get to with paint stripper or the sandblaster -- usually where two panels are welded together with pockets of varying sizes in between.
So, I'm considering taking the parts (bed, cab, fenders, doors) to a body dip place to get into the hard places. I've seen posts here where people are basically cutting welds and taking the cab apart. To me, that's a last resort, as I have no experience with body work. (And my only welding equipment currently is an oxyacetylene rig that my Dad left me, and while I do an excellent job soldering electronics, I've not made much headway with welding. Though part of that problem could be that the acetylene tank is low.)
Does anybody know of any body dip shops within 100 miles of Seattle? Or should I bite the bullet and pull things apart? The cab looks like it wouldn't be too bad to take apart and reassemble, but the bed is something else entirely.
Thanks,
Steve
