69 F-250 from So Cal

Post by timmk21 »

Hey just a bought a 69 F-250 custom short bed. Runs fairly decent and has a decent body. I have been living in the San Diego area (Chula Vista) for the past 7 years but originally from the great state of Minnesota. I do have some things to do to her. I've always wanted an old school ford but I am really not the most savvy when it comes to trucks. I do have a couple of questions so hopefully y'all can point me in the right direction. How do I adjust the gas pedal height (it is too close and too high)? Where is a good place to buy new seat belts (mine are missing)?

Welcome aboard from Gerber, Ca.
You can google the seat belts or order from LMC Truck ect. I got a set of 3 point belts for the 68.
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

Welcome from Huntington Beach! I've picked up a few parts from the Long Beach swap meet and from The Pomona swap meet. When I got my '67 it didn't have seat belts and I found a set of originals off of EBay.

Next to your user name in the upper right corner of each page there is a downward pointing arrow. Click on that and a menu will appear. Click on profile. Now next to your user name there will be a link "edit profile". Click on that and it will take you to your profile. Scroll down until you see the entry for location. Fill it out with the appropriate info. When done click submit at the bottom of the page. Now your location will appear under your avatar.
From the stance of the truck it looks like it's a 4x4. Is it? If so you've got something of a rare bird there!

welcome. Greetings from Long Beach.

To adjust the gas pedal height it's best with two people, or you can just keep hopping in and out.

Leave the car off, pop open the hood, take a look behind the air filter, keep the gas pedal down (piece of 2x4), notice what rod moved. That's the one you adjust.

If it ever pops off, you can use a wire to connect them to McGyver it.

Long Beach Auto Swap has parts, but nothing beats Pamona.

Going by the pictures you posted, I figured you were probably on the east side of Chula Vista. We used to live just off J Street close to the 5 but moved to Hillcrest a few years ago. I'll watch out for you when I'm down there
