'68 F100 Roadster? Anybody ever seen one?

Post by themoldfords »

I have had the idea of creating a roadster out of a bump for some time. I am wondering if anybody has ever seen one with a narrowed front end and box? I drew a quick sketch, it's not pretty, but along the lines I am thinking. Show me some pictures if you can find, have seen any.

That green? 67 is awesome. Now I know where the inspiration for the Dodge Prowler came from. I can only imagine what all its parts are off of but it works for me.

The main thing about a roadster is I like to drive in the rain sometimes (although here in N CA rain is just something you hear about but never see, much like S CA in the "olden days" as my 2 year old grand daughter likes to say.) She also said "make it" when she saw the picture of the 67. A removable hardtop should not be too hard to fabricate.

I personally prefer the style of the dentside but that's just one idiot's opinion. If you decide to build a roadster of any style please, OH PLEASE do a build thread so we can all follow along.

I was thinking something a little more different than either of them really. I would keep the cab the same width and height, shorten the bed quite a bit and narrow it so the inside is about as wide as the frame rails, narrow the grille so it is as wide as the frame rails and bring the fenders from the cab width to mate with the grille. I was thinking about doing it with my parts truck, but there might be too many parts missing now.
