Alright, started working on the ole girl again a few days ago. What has really been bugging me is all the leaves and crap down under the cowel vents. I removed the one rubber (real stiff, where should I look for another) access cover and cleaned / vacce'd out as much of the leaves and stuff I could. Well, what I though would start to happen is, I have surface rust in the cowel area, how did, how can I take care of that.
One thought is to cut out that area above the fire wall, clean, prep and paint the inside cowel area, then weld it all back up again,
thoughts?

Some paints like POR15 are designed to be applied over rust. You might want to check around and see what others are using. I used Rustoleum rust converter and liked it better than POR15 since I could use it over everything with very little prep.

Canonmam67, I was kinda thinking that route too, something other then POR 15. Down here, gulf coast Alabama/Florida area, we have a bunch of "Tractor Supply" stores and I've look at their paint section, looks to be some good alternatives.

I also thought I saw something from Eastwood that has a little hose and sprayer that you can actually put inside a frame to paint it, anyone else seen this? Am thinking that if it sprays in a semi circle, that might work for the cowel area.

Oh man, I saw that awhile ago and completely forgot about it. That would have made the inside of my cab mounts way easier.
