Post by ChuckLewis »

Hey Everyone!

Chuck Lewis from Wilkesboro, NC. I just bought my first 5th Generation truck. Its a 1970 F-250 Ranger XLT Camper Special. Found it on CL after searching CL, E-bay, local ads, Auto-Trader, auctions and riding the back roads. Its a pretty solid truck with a little rust in the front corners of the bed where it had leaves, pine needles and trash sitting in it. There is also a little bit around the fender wells where the bed floor marries up. 390 starts and runs but the truck had been sitting for a while so we are going to go through everything before putting it on the road very far. Plans are to get it safe for daily driving and then see what happens. So far, this site has been very impressive with the amount of information available. Looking forward to the adventure!

Welcome! I also have a 70 f-250. Get it good enough to be a daily driver and see what happens. My thoughts exactly! Very good shape, grill looks perfect! That is hard to find. I am impressed how little rust these trucks from the south get.
