I want my paint to look like fresh sanded primer

Post by Ngeorgia »

As the topic says I want to paint the truck white. Wet sand and maybe buff. But i want the look and feel of primer. Even if i could find white primer it has no UV protection. And flat clear isnt the answer as i have a friend who did it and thats not the look im after. Some have suggested sinlge stage enamel. Maybe. Im not building a rat rod by any means but i have always liked the look of hand sanded primer.

You should be able to find an epoxy primer in white , and thats fairly weather resistant.

Why not flat white? I spray bombed my ranchero with Rustoleum flat black 20 years ago and it has weathered well. Sure I can see all the other colors underneath now but it was a solid color for the first 5 years or so.
