That's what I'm dealing with now. I had to rebuild the rocker, and the bracket for fender nut. I'm removing the cowl, and the sections for the vent area. It's a mess!

Yeah that intersection is a tough one. Its nasty usually because there are three panels welded together. I had a cab that was bad there and I didnt bother with it I found a better cab. You could cut out the metal and weld in new. Ive seen a few others on here do just that and the results were really good.[/quote]bbyrnes1 wrote:You must be talking about the bottom corners were the firewall meets the kick panel and toe boards. What options do I have?
The only firewall seam fixes I've seen have been chopping it off and weld in patch palens and lose the seam. I want to keep the seam and fix it the right way. I haven't seen anybody here remove their firewall. Do you have a link?
Probably by this weekend I'll be starting cutting spot welds around the firewall perimeter. Which takes me to my question: Does it make a difference if I cut the spot welds from the firewall side or from the other side of the seam?
BTW follow my thread "Big Country project thread" I'll be documenting my progress.
