Bed Bolts.

I swapped out my rusted 67 bed for a good condition 67 bed but discovered that the new bed only uses 6 bolts in the bed instead of the 8 bolts that the original bed had. Any ideas why? I'm only talking about the bolts in the bed, not the two that are underneath by the rear bumper.

I have noticed the same thing on mine. I have a 71 F-250 CS. It has only 6 bed bolts, where are some beds have 8.

I can not imagine what the difference would be or why.

Good question! I've never seen that before! I suggest changing the post title to reflect the question better though, you will get more attention that way and more likely to get the correct answer.
