Tell me what you guys think.

Post by simknot »

Hello, I have been looking at a 67 F100 with a 300ci and auto with running lights to boot. It is in need of help, lots of help. I just wanted to ask some people who are in the know. I have gotten lots of info from so far and would appreciate some more. Rust is the problem. Mostly the cab and radiator mount. The radiator mount is pulled through the rust but replaceable through LMC. My main concern is about the rear cab mounts (the one on the cab not the frame) is mostly gone on the ends. The bolts are gone and the holes don’t line up. Off about ½â€Â

I don't know of anyone selling the center portion of the cab crossmember, but the ends are available from National Parts Depot.

One place to check before puting money into this cab is the seam along the top front of the roof along the drip rail. If that area is rusted out you would be better off getting a different cab. If its OK, then the cab sounds pretty typical for its age and it could be repaired.

If the rest of the cab is in good shape, I would say go for it. Sounds like just a couple of medium size jobs and it would be good.

Thank you, I appreciate your advice. I'll look at the drip rail and go from there.
