Ford Windshield question - from South Africa

Post by Villain »

Hi, Gents.

I was referred to this section by a fellow forum member:

My introduction is made at the following link - http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =1&t=78608

Then, with this post, is my first question as well.

Are the windshields of the 67-72 Ford F100 interchangeable with the windshields of that of the 73-77 Ford F100? I know that these generations of trucks have their own respective windshield rubbers/seals - either with or without the groove for the windshield trimming.

If it is the case that the windshield are interchangeable would it then be possible to use the windshield rubber, with the groove for the trimming, from the 73-77 Ford F100 generation truck on the 67-72 Ford F100 Generation?

The reason for this is that I cannot seem to find any reproduction, or after-market, trimmings for the 67-72 Ford F100 generation, but I can find the chrome plastic trimmings for the 73-77 Ford F100 truck generation - either from Dennis Carpenter or thetruckshop.com.

Hence, I am sure that you can see where I am going with this.

If it is at all possible - then I would like to utilize the windshield rubber/seal from the 73-77 Ford F100 generation and install it on my 1969 Ford F100, purely for the reason of getting the chrome plastic trim around the windshield.

The reason for considering this route is that the current Dollar exchange in South Africa are quire high - so instead of ordering these windshield trimmings off e-bay (where they might appear to be in good condition, but by the time they arrive in South Africa they will more than likely be full of dings/dents) I can order the plastic chrome trimmings new from either from Dennis Carpenter or thetruckshop.com.

Your comments would be highly appreciated.
Everyone's always driving their fancy cars, but for some reason it is always the ol'FORD that is relied on when the fancy car breaks. :D :D :D
