Hood Hinge Spring

Post by urchinhead »

Does anyone make a replacement spring? All I have found are some really cheap hinge replacements sold as a complete assembly.

:? Has anyone else had a difficult time locating hood hinge springs? I have only found ones sold by LMC Truck, which people advise never to buy parts from.

Does anyone know the part number so that I can try and find NOS springs? I would like to move past using a prop and/or hitting my head . . .

Have you tried National Parts Depot?

Look on page 209 of their online catalog... so easy a caveman can do it.

So easy for a Caveman to do what? Find a part for a different truck? Thanks for nothing.

was actually just looking myself. i think HIO Silver had the page correct. here is the link

hope i did that right... if you find a source for oem i'd love to know. at least national has the spring separate and is prob better quality than most repro sources. also i think the caveman comment was just to say the actual repair work is an easy job.
cheers!

Or....you could install a modern lift support and be done with that problem.
