Core support shims

Has anybody noticed multiple shims or spacers underneath the core support? I have never noticed more than one washer/spacer before but noticed an exploded diagram that showed spacers being used "as needed". I am about to reassemble a truck I have restored and was wondering if this is common or not. I would anticipate it is for alignment purposes of the fenders/hood/inner fenders.

I have parted out 5-6 trucks. Some had no spacers on one side and a few on the other side. Others had one on each side or none at all.
