Rear bumper
Does anybody know of this is an original rear bumper or if it's aftermarket or home made? It's solid steel, very heavy, built well and seems to fit very nice but I can't find pics of any other trucks with the same type of bumper. I know the front is original but not sure if the rear one is..or what style or type it is!

Re: Rear bumper
Unlike today, rear bumpers were optional. Dealers' showrooms usually had a rack with the factory contour bumper and then aftermarket bumpers on the same rack. Or one could opt to have no bumper at all.
That massive, likley 80+ lb bumper, is prolly from a supplier from whom Ford or the dealership had an arrangement with.

Re: Rear bumper
Yes our trucks didnt come from the factory with rear bumpers. They were either dealer installed aftermarket or homemade. I have not seen bumper exactly like that one though. That i probaly not a dealer install.. but it could be.i doubt its homemade. It is similar to others ive seen.

Keep looking for a factory style bumper for my 69 LWB. I have one of those big ones similar to the OPs.

I pulled a contour bumper off an 80s Bronco for my 73 4x4... Over the years since, I have concluded that they are relatively hard to find.hillcountryflt wrote:Keep looking for a factory style bumper for my 69 LWB. I have one of those big ones similar to the OPs.
