Just bought 70 F350 Flatbed
Brought it home Thursday. After thinking about it for almost a month I bought my first "old" truck. Its a 1970 F350 DRW Flatbed, 360 cid, 4 spd. Its in pretty good shape, no rot, recent, but lousy paint, runs OK (I'll be posting on that). I think I'm the 3rd owner. The truck has always been on my street. It was owned by a roofing contractor, I think from new. Went to a construction company about two years ago where it was partially restored by the owner's elderly father. Its been for sale down the street for about 2 1/2 months until I took it home for $700. Its my 2nd truck so I can take my time getting it in good shape. It would be a good candidate for a complete restoration, but for now i just want to get it road worthy and as reliable as it can be. I'll put pics up when I figure out how and where. For now I have pics on FTE site. Its the only 1970 F350 in the gallery. I hope it's OK to mention FTE site, I read about this site's owners issues with FTE. I'm not a mechanic but I 've been messing with my cars and trucks since I started driving 20 years ago. As I said, this is my first old truck so its gonna be a learning experience for me. At least I don't need to be a computer geek to work on this one. I'm glad to see that this forum has spellcheck!!

Welcome Flatbed, sounds like a good score on the truck. It's okay to mention that site here, no more than once though. I'll let others comment on that, although i don't care for it either. Have fun with your truck.

Welcome to the rightr site!
I personally like the DRW and flatbeds (almost) as much as my Hiboy! so much so, in fact, that my 4x4 now has a dually rear end, and is getting a flatbed!
you will be amazed at the difference between here and the 'other' site! there is no comparison!
I'm sure you will not find a reason to return there!

Your truck sounds pretty cool too. I wish mine was a 4X4. Too bad Ford didn't make them that way back then.
Searching this site is pretty helpful so far. I think my truck needs a carb rebuild. After reading up on it here, I guess I'll give it a shot myself. I just want to get this truck on the road soon. My '96 is is the shop having some major bodywork after somebody decided not to stop at a stop sign and I creamed them. Luckily, everybody walked away. As bad as my truck is, that Volvo station wagon is clearly the looser.[/quote]

Welcome from Wa. I also like the flatbeds. I've been looking at one over here for sale. Seems like most of us have been to "that other site", but this place is home for us. No Place Like Home!!!
