bondo

I think there is a thin type of bondo out there for skim coating slightly depressed areas on roofs and hoods. The more flexible areas of a truck. Is there or is it the same stuff.

"Bondo" is a trademarked name by 3M. More accurately the material is referred to as a polyester resin body filler. Ain't nothing wrong with the stuff but reference to the term usually denotes poor bodywork. It's not the material that's "bad", it's the knuckleheads who attempt to craft an entirely new body panel with the stuff that gives the material a bad reputation..

I recommend Evercoat's Rage Ultra.

I know its a brand name. I am asking about smothing flexible surfaces to obtain a slick looking smooth surface. I was told years ago the stuff they used was thinly made just for what i need. Do they make a special thin skim coater for minor dings dimples and other.

Google Evercoat Polyester putties. It is made for shallow dents and nics. Most often it is used on top of fillers. I find it great for blocking. Very easy to sand . I'm no expert at all but have friends that are good at body work and it was recommended to me and been using it since.

I really like the Bondo 'Gold' grade stuff. It worked a lot nicer vs. the plain stuff and since Wal-Mart stocks it, I could find it easily when I ran out on a Saturday night.

Ive used walmart bondo. I used it to patch hollow core interior doors and paneling in rental houses. It worked great.
