What Weight Dead-Blow Hammer?

Sorry, did a search, and it came up empty. I'm doing my first engine rebuild, and decided that I need a dead-blow hammer or rubber mallet. But when I went looking, I found hammer weights from 16 ounces to four pounds. Is there an ideal weight to buy, or a weight that y'all find more useful?

As far as dead blows I have several sizes 6 in all and I find myself using the med and large sized hammers the most. If your on a budget go to Harbor Freight. You can buy all their sizes for around 50 bucks. I have used deadblows for everything from putting together tongue and grove boards to busting frozen concrete blocks from the ground.
I dont care for rubber mallets. I have a habit of breaking the handles on them ALL the time so I hardly use them. For more delicate work I prefer and use rawhide mallets.

I have two dead blow mallets - three pounds and five pounds.

On these trucks I usually use the five-pounder but the lil three-pounder comes is handy where there is a lack of space/clearance.

I have (I think?) a 2-1/2 pounder and a 4 pounder........and use them often....in fact I need to replace my 4 pounder, and it has been beat to death
