Just inherited a 67 swb

Post by 67-4x4 »

Hi all, I just inherited a 67 f100, 4wd

It's been in the family since 96,(my father started the restoration in 96)I've got a project on my hands to say the least, but the motor and driveline was all rebuilt or repaired and has less than 1k miles on the whole setup. It's sat since 2001 and I just changed the fluids and am in the process of getting new tires for it.

Has minor rust issues from sitting
The title is in the mail and I was looking at the vin and decoder,
The vin on my door and title says f10, the decoder says this would make it 2wd
The truck was 4wd when we bought it and was 4wd for as long as the guy before us had it (family friend)

I've seen 4x2 to 4x4 conversions and this doesn't fit the bill. Too clean and also too dirty (everything looks the same age) to be a swap
I guess my question is, will this hurt the value at all? I'll be working from the bottom up and want to know.

I'll have pics and will be on here for the remainder of my life, as this will take that long to bring her back lol

I'm 24 years young

As for your VIN coming back to a 2wd truck and the truck being a 4wd, it is possible that someone may have swapped the driver door at some point in the past and kept the VIN from the truck the door came off of. I would check the VIN stamped on your frame and see if it matches the door VIN. The frame VIN will be the actual VIN to your truck unless someone did a frame swap at some point (doubtful). So you may want to decode your VIN frame if different and that will tell you more about your truck.

Once you figure out what your actual VIN is, you may want to order the $40 Marti Report to give you even more info about your truck from when it was new... http://www.martiauto.com/reports2.cfm

I will say this, that 67 grille on your truck is a thing of beauty! Looks to be perfectly straight in the photo!! That right there is priceless!!
