New to Fords

Post by 67myway »

I'm 18 years old never owned anything older then 20 years but I got this old ford now and This website is full of good information its been a lot of help and now half way into my build I finally make an account. I got my 67 F100 in a trade for a jeep I use to have. I got the truck, originally Wimbledon White now in primer it had the 240Ci inline 6 with a 3 on the tree converted to a floor shift I spent a lot of time messing with the carb trying to make it run rite it just never ran good so I decided to just tear it down and start my first restoration. I started with the back half of the truck sandblasting wire wheeling and painting the back half of the frame redoing the factory 9" then finally reassembled everything to like new condition on the back. next was the front I hated the twin I beam it rode like crap and turned like crap so me and my father cut the front end out of the truck and replaced it with the common CV swap so now that I was using the CV front end I decided to go with a Modular 4.6 because it just bolts rite in. I bought a 2000 ford crown Vic PI with low miles removed the motor and tranny and all the harnesses for the build. I cleaned the motor threw a gasket kit in it and painted the motor light ford blue the next day i installed the motor and tranny into the truck built the tranny cross member and had everything bolted in. this is where I am now trying to figure out wiring like: what wire needs power? what wires do i need? and im at a loss i don't have the factory service manual for the 2000 vic so i need diagrams ive searched high and low hoping to get one on a PDF but no luck. Has anyone done this swap on here? does anyone have some wiring diagrams or a write-up on using the factory harness with the 4.6? I need the help thanks! (I can get Pictures up soon I just have to download them onto my computer)

:wel: from SoCal. As others have stated, other have done the same swap so you should be able to get the answers you need. But also, post it in the proper forum or your questions might get overlooked by the people that have those answers.
