Special ordered color?

So there is not a stamp on the vin tag where the color code should be. So after some digging I guess that means my truck came with a specials ordered color. How do I figure out what exact color it was ordered in? It is orange and the paint is original besides the bed(in primer) and I just need to know what exact orange it's is . The guy I bought it from gave me a gallon of hugger orange, was that a color used back then?

Hugger orange is a Chevrolet color.
Ford had a color called Grabber Orange.

FYI this is how I bought It! I have only had a week and a half so please excuse the unsanded body filler (from the previous guy) and rusted threw primer. (Also him) what's with the number bellow my vin, it's also on the radiator support, factory markings?

Your truck was a special order by the looks of the DSO code. Most are two-digit but yours six. . . 659444.

Prolly some kind of fleet order, hence the blank color code. Maybe a state of fed DOT?

I am assuming that the truck probably belonged to a business or government agency at some time and the number that is painted on the truck was probably a number identifying it in their fleet. That is not a Ford number and was painted on after it was sold.

As for getting more info on your truck and learning exactly how your truck was ordered, when it was built, where it was sold, etc... Order the Marti report for your truck.
