Just picked up a '67 aluminum grill in sacramento for 100 bucks, needs a little TLC gunna take it to a body shop and have them clean it up a little. Then swap it with the '72 front end. The trick to getting the old grill off was soaking the bolts and clips in PB fluid, some of the clips still broke though really old and weak, also were a pain to get out. There was a surprising amount of bolts holding on the grill, I think I counted something like 30 bolts.
The '72 grill is in really good shape still, almost feel bad taking it off , I just don't personally like that plastic on it. Was thinking of cutting out the headlights in the back and putting regular bulbs in it and hanging it in my garage as a light. Let me know what you guys think, seems pretty straight forward but if you have any pointers or insight on grill swaps let me know! Ill keep posting the progress

Re: 67 grill swap
Just finished up the swap, was pretty straight forward, only thing i really had to do was relocate a ground and buy some new clips for the bolts. The grill still needs a little aluminum polish, and I'm going to buy new headlight covers cause these are a little chewed up. Overall I'm happy with how it came out and really like the one piece aluminum grill over the one with plastic.
