mustang tank/ drop hitch
Will a drop hitch still fit with the mustang fuel tank?

Somene knows for sure . Maybe they will chim in soon. It would be nice to get the tank out of the cab and still be able to tow.

Re: mustang tank/ drop hitch
The scratch-built frame for the tank sandwiches the tank flange up against the frame rails. A bolt-on, frame mounted hitch will interfere with the tank and frame. A better option would be to use a 19-gallon, 72-80 lntl Scout tank from MTS. It's narrower and in held with straps. Some lite fabrication is required like a mounting points for the straps. Either with a Stang or Scout a crossmember has to be moved anyway so it's all in the scope of work.

I am thinking if you use the bumper mount bolts it should mount fine. Even if you sandwich the bumper brackets between it. It would require some modifications to the hitch.
