Where can I find a "new" styleside bed?

Post by Dipstick »

Hi guys, is there anywhere you can get a new bed. LMC has a complete bed for Chevy, but they don't even have all the parts for a ford, much less a complete. Any suggestions?

Buy a MIG welder and rebuild one to be as good as new.

Fords are Fords...not lemmings branded with a bowtie. That's what sets us apart from the masses.

I have not seen a "new" bed for sale anywhere. Just parts... Your best bet is to find a decent one for sale on Craigslist or a junkyard, and then make the repairs that it needs. If you have the room, keep an eye out for a cheap "parts truck" with a decent bed. I bought a parts truck a while back for $600. I towed it home and kept the frame and bed. Parted out everything else on Craigslist and made over $1300. So if you have the means and the room, that is a great way to go as you may end up getting what you need for free and some extra spending cash.

I used their wheel arch repair panel on my 73 4x4. The stamping isn't as crisp as OEM but for my rig it was A-OK since ya can't see both rear wheel arches at the same time. It seemed a gauge lower than factory metal.

Thanks for the input. I was afraid you guys were gonna say that. I've been on the prowl for an old one, but all I've found is floorless.
