On a J nut the top portion (without the treads) is shorter than the lower portion, the U nut is the same length.
IMHO..

Wonder if this post will make the 3rd page of nuts. I've always called them speed nuts, or J clips. But I have found that just about everyone, has a different name for everything. Just call up a part's store and ask for something... you explain what it is and they go "Oh, you mean a ......."

WELL all the years working at autowreckers I should know. Around here we call the top one a body nut, and the lower a body clip.
does that sound right?

Hey!
That reminds me of something.
Q: What's the difference between Beer nuts and Deer nuts?
A: Beer nuts are $2.95 and Deer nuts are under a Buck!
