Don't forget the dingle balls around the headliner, thick (white or hot pink)fur on the dash. Oh and get the metalflake candy apple green paint job with those rims! :P

I'm being realistic. It's not going to be driven off road at all, I live in the city. I'm restoring it along the lines of a show and go. The 4wd will be there when it's needed, but I'm not looking to bury it or otherwise.

My personal opinion is that they don't look right for a truck.
I realize it's your ride, but I don't care for them.

When I was shopping for a project last year I saw a set on an early Bronco, and I really liked the look. It is different, but I don't want the same thing as everyone else. When you see an old truck like this up here they have one of 5 rims on them. Since I'm not worried about off road capability I'll lean towards something unique. That being said, they'll be 15" rims because I don't care for the oversized jobs on an old truck.

Your Pickup has that "Rugged Marlboro Man" look especially with the straight axle 4WD. An attempt to alter that "Genre" of that "MAN TRUCK" would be just wrong. people would be saying "Why?" Like putting 22" wheels on a lifted Suburban "Why?" Building a Hot Rod Model A and installing a small block Chevy in it. "Why?"

I don't want it to look like everything else. I think 22's on a Suburban looks ridiculous, but at the same time, 99% of those never get off the highway anyway, so what's the dif? I'm not a hard core off road guy, and once I get the oak down in the bed, I'll be hesitant to throw iron in the back to hall it to the junkyard anyway. If it were a full size f250 I'd go in a different direction.

Well, just because some of us are kinda cool towards that particular design doesn't mean you should be. The point is to customize it for yourself and how you intend to drive. If most of your driving is pavement, then these will work just fine...as long as you are aware of and heed the rims' limitations. With a nice paint job on the truck I think they'd look great. If would definitely give it some attitude.

No one on here was going to change my mind, I was just curious what others thought. I built up my dad's 75 years ago and put 35's under it with steel mods and an upgraded front axle, and it was overkill since I never went off road with it. My goal this time is to build something with enough power to tow and hall when needed, but for the most part, to look good. I'm going with the same metalflake blue that was on his 75, with chrome and polished up aluminum, and it's going to turn a lot of heads. If I suddenly get the urge to go wheeling and I trash a rim, I'll worry about it then.

I've seen old trucks with nearly one of four wheels on them. The same truck that it. Nothing like that white spoke/smoothie/Krager look to turn heads.

Anytime I see one of these trucks I turn my head. You just don’t seem much of them around here anymore. Ten years ago when I redid the 75 it wasn’t uncommon to see something of that era going down the road. Now if you see anything pre-80 it’s a rarity. I don’t expect everyone to like what I like. My hope is that the time and money I put into this truck will keep it on the road for another 30 odd years, and down the road, someone will see it and want to make it theirs. It drives me crazy to see these trucks dropped as lowriders with the 22 inch rims, but at least someone else is pulling that truck out of the field or wherever and making it seen.
