window seal

Post by jimmy828 »

Well, i have been waiting for a couple of weeks for a friend to come over and help install my windshield and still waiting. I thought i would get my son to help me install it. If i don't feel comfortable at it when i start, i'm stopping. My question is, does the rubber go on truck first?. :hmm:

The rubber goes on the windshield first. Use a little masking tape here and there to help hold it on while you move in to position, If not it always falls off the windshield somewhere. Just pull the tape off when the windshield is close to being installed.

Ditto, have some dish soap handy, a couple smaller flat blade screw drivers and plenty of patience. Dish soap goes on the outside of the seal and rub it onto the inner lip so it'll help it slip over the steel lip as you work the glass in from the bottom up.

Sometimes some fine cord will help but I've never had one go in easy like they do on the Youtube videos.
