3.9 / 400 L6 fully machined and balanced. Bored 20 over. Good block to start.
Earson cam
Offy dual plane intake
500 CFM Edelbrock
aluminum radiator
Ranger Over Drive (noisy ******* but it works great)
Rebuilt T18 trans
Centerforce clutch with Heavy duty through out bearing
Hand made header assembly. 1 3/8" mains to 2" choke collector to 2.5 pipes. thrush loud ass mufflers. 065 wall mandrel mild steel mig welded. Looks great! (with header wrap anyway)
stage 8 header fasteners
Mallory billet shaft, electronic distributor and coil
Cheap ass wooden flatbed.
Original ugly paint with some primer. (workin on that)
Toyo At front tires
Bridgstone Mud and snow rears (4 of em)
New Steal wheels (Lug Centric old style) I ditched the splits and had my "guy" dig up some new single piece RV wheels that fit.
Dana 70 rear with new seals bearings and fluid. Stage 8 X Lock retention system. (<love this thing) Stock Original 3.73 gears. (they run quiet and free so why mess with em)
all new brakes, slaves, master cylinder (power). I kept the old drums. cheaper to get on the road.....
140 amp one wire Powermaster alternator and big ass Interstate battery.
Top speed 60 mph with O.D.
MPG 9 city 11.5 highway
Monthly payment (not including gas) ZERO.
why do I drive this every day>?
It was my project hobby till my 04 f250 finally died from all the stuff that killed the 6.0 diesels. Fatal blow was a bent rod and badly scored cylinder from a hydraulic compression stroke due to a failed EGR cooler. cylinder filled with water and up came the piston when I started it. Knock knock grind. cough... die.
So here I am. Lets talk Old Fords!
