Used one is the only way to go as of now. Molds were destroyed years back. I heard tell that a company was going to be reproducing them for the 68, don't know when, where, or if it is just a urban ledgend. (Maybe Dennis Carpenter.) You may find one on E-Bay, or from another member. Good hunting. John

Thanks for the input Dennis. I couldn't remember that. Getting to the age where remembering once in a while is a BIG thing. :lol:

Anybody else here besides me ever consider using an OEM grill shell as a buck to make a fiberglass mold? I think it would be interesting to the change the center section to mimic with the 2013 GT-500 "catfish" mouth look.

Yes it's true that Dennis Carpenter is suppose to come out with the 68/69 grille. Suppose to be in April, we'll see. The grille that they're coming out with is the grille that has the indentation in the center horizontal bar. This area was normally painted red.
They don't plan on making a true 68 or a 67 grille. No telling what the price will be nor the quality. These grilles as well as many parts they sell are made in China. So no telling how they will fit.
When D.C. started making the 66 grilles, there was problems in the fit as well as in the aluminum they were using.
As for originals, the price seems to be sky-rocketing. People are selling (or trying to) grilles from $500.00 and up.
Depends on quality and money your willing to spend. Are you looking for a driver quality grille? Are you looking for a complete grille?
Are you looking for a "Show Quality" grille. Either way, send me a PM I'll give you my number through the PM and I'll tell you what and who to be careful of.
I've been selling reconditioned grilles for over 8 years and have a pretty good reputation because of it.

Bumping back to top with updated information from Dennis Carpenter.
This is the latest email I have from Dennis Carpenter regarding the 68/69 Grille.

The prototype stampings were viewed in late November in China by our management team and they liked the results. However, anodizing & polishing had not been done. They will probably not be available until June.

This is the latest.

It will be interesting to see the new grilles, and pricing.
Don't forget to look on Craigslist, I've found a few NOS grilles in the past few years, they are out there somewhere...
Here's my latest find;

I sure did! The man who sold it to me bought it at the Ford dealer in the 80's for a restoration. He gave up and sold his '67. Last year he listed some parts on Craigslist, and in the ad copy was "new grill", among the other (used) parts. I was the first to call.

P.s. I have them on the truck right now, but will be coming off probably this week.
