Hi, I have a 69 f250 long bed. The back of the truck was hit many many moons ago. The impact crumped the section between the rear bumper and passenger side rear wheel. Nothing else looked dented, except there's a bubble in the bed floor and the passenger side bed end where the tail gate attaches is bent in so much that I cant close the tailgate. So, I'm assuming my bed is bent.
My question is, is there some way I can re-bend the box to its original square shape? The box is rust free and is in otherwise great shape. Or am I just wasting my time and should just replace it?
Thanks
A

Re: Bent bed..?
A "real" body man will hopefully chime in but I know you're going to have to relieve the stress caused by the impact. You'all probably need to cut the section of bed floor out and replace it. You may also need to cut out that section of bed side, jack out the corner and weld in a new section. Once that metal gets stretched from the impact, you have to "shrink" it back. Metal does stretch, however minimal, and it won't fit back in the same shape. It's gotta go somewhere and that's usually to the outer extents.
